During installation or when moving the Kofax database, the error "The database schema is not empty" may be encountered. The target database must be completely empty for standard Kofax objects to be successfully created.
Typically we see this error in cases where SQL Server or Oracle are configured to include default views or stored procedures in the model of any newly created database. With these objects in place, the database schema is technically not empty. Unfortunately, the only corrective step is for a DBA to disable those objects on the model until the Kofax database has been created. An alternative is to use the standard Kofax database instead.
Note that this problem does not occur when using the standard Kofax database as the standard database generates its own instance of SQL Server Express with an empty model.
